We'll start with the important stuff. :) Tonight's scores: 159, 169, 144. I'm disappointed that I finished that third game with three consecutive open frames (including two splits) as I was on a pace for 183 through the first seven frames. At least I didn't lose any more pins off my average.

[livejournal.com profile] h8torun made me promise that I would 'fess up to the fact that she beat me in that third game with a 155. Tonight was her first time at the bowling alley in about six weeks, so I thought she did very well.

Alas, we lost all three games again this week - Randy and Mario weren't there, and while Mario had a bowloff, Randy had arranged for Ralph to fill in for him. Unfortunately, Ralph didn't show up. We have no idea why. We probably would have won at least the first two games had he been there, though the other team was getting tons of breaks that we weren't getting. They'd hit the headpin dead-on and get strikes; we'd do the same and get splits. Argh.

I know this is old news by now, but since I only just walked in the door about ten minutes ago, the Star Trek teaser trailer has been posted at IESB.net. For the three of you who haven't seen it already...

It doesn't show a heck of a lot - heck, it doesn't really show anything, and this is footage that was made just for the teaser trailer, so it's not even going to be in the finished movie - but I like it anyway. The viral marketing campaign ought to be fun to follow.

If all goes well, I'm going to try to make it out to see Cloverfield tomorrow night with some friends, so I'll be able to see it on the big screen. I promise to stay and watch the movie, though, and not walk out after the teaser trailer. ;)

Elsewhere... I had a fairly productive week at work this week. I'm a little annoyed that the client seems to want significant changes to stuff that I spent a lot of time doing recently, but that's what happens when the client tells you, "I want [x], but I don't know how I want it to work or what I want it to look like. Wing it, and I'll tell you afterwards if I like it or not." It feels sometimes like I'm wasting a lot of time.

Just got back from Cloverfield. I shan't spoilify the film itself, but it's worth hanging around for* after the (OH MY GOD SO AWESOME ON THE SEXYTRONIC BIG SCREEN) Star Trek trailer, which got many a catcall.

*unless you're prone to motion sickness, in which case it will make you wish you had never been born.

Yeah, it was "Godzilla a la Blair Witch Project", wasn't it?

And yes, the teaser trailer for Star Trek was so much better on the big screen. OMG, that was beautiful. I saw details that I hadn't noticed on my monitor, particularly background shots of the ship as the welders were working. I didn't hear any catcalls, but there was a lot of chatter in the theatre that started up after the reveal and the voiceover. I think I heard more negativity after the movie itself ended. (Chris Knight said, "What did they expect?". I responded, "An ending, maybe?")
