I just got in the door a few minutes ago, and I am exhausted. And starving. I'm going to make myself some soup (I'm not feeling ambitious enough for pasta and I didn't take the time to stop at Metro for something microwaveable, so soup will have to do) and go to bed.
*yawn*
Edited to add: I was just unpacking my suitcase while waiting for water to boil, and discovered a card from the TSA indicating that they'd opened and inspected my suitcase. What is it with me and travelling, anyway? I think this is the fourth time in the last two years that I've either been singled out for extra checking at the airport or had my luggage opened...

Date: 2009-01-28 06:16 am (UTC)I've had my entire car searched before. Apparently, Drew fits the profile of a terrorist. You know, Canadian (non-American), runs his own business (nobody cares if or when he gets back), no return ticket (because he's driving), staying in Chicago less than 24 hours (because he has clients to get home to)... He was only driving my car back because I'd twisted my ankle. Yep, friendly Canadian guy, must be a terrorist.

Date: 2009-01-28 06:57 am (UTC)I can think of nobody less likely to raise suspicions than Drew. :) You may recall my story of coming back from Gallifrey in 2006, when my Air Canada flight turned out to be a codeshare with El Al and I had to run across LAX to a different terminal (wearing my winter coat, so I worked up a sweat), and showed up at the check-in counter panting and not looking all that much like my passport picture (since I was blond at that time but my passport picture showed me with my natural dark brown hair and a full beard.) Now that was fun.
