... on the scene with the latest Star Trek news. Behind the cut for those trying to avoid this kind of thing:

I resized it from the original so that it will actually fit on the screen. If anyone wants to see the full-size version, you should be able to see it here.
Sweet.

Date: 2008-01-18 05:06 am (UTC)The main thing people seem to be nitpicking about is, of all things, the font used for the registry number and name of the ship. Though they're the same font that Franz Joseph used in his original blueprints (or so I read, I haven't pulled mine down off the shelf to check ;) ).

Date: 2008-01-19 03:59 am (UTC)My only real quibble is that the saucer looks metallic instead of white, and the lettering doesn't match (even if it does match the blueprints). But who's to say that the ship wasn't refitted between the events of this movie and TOS? After all, the bridge looked completely different between "The Cage," "Where No Man Has Gone Before" and "The Man Trap".

Date: 2008-01-19 04:05 am (UTC)The question is, now, whether Greg Grunberg's cameo will entail him being sucked into one of them and splattered all over the rest of the construction crew. ;)

Date: 2008-01-20 09:42 am (UTC)Though that score was pretty good, I'll grant them that. (And I like the composer they're using for this movie - Michael Giacchino also did the music for "The Incredibles", "Alias" and "Mission: Impossible III," plus he's the composer on "Lost". He's apparently JJ Abrams' preferred composer, sort of like John Williams is for Spielberg and Lucas.
