Finally!

The father of a United States Marine who was killed in Iraq was suing the Westboro Baptist Church (Fred Phelps' outfit, the "church" that pickets the funerals of gay men and soldiers for defending a country that tolerates gay people - you may have heard of his website, www.godhatesfags.com). I read about this a couple of months ago and thought, "Great, another opportunity for Phelps to get publicity. The courts will never rule against him because of the free speech rights enshrined in the Constitution, no matter how deranged he is in using said rights."

Well... the jury awarded the Marine's father 11 million dollars today, after only 24 hours of deliberation! Hopefully this will put that bastard Phelps and his "church" out of business for good - according to the judge, that's more money than they have. *does happy dance*

And I hope it encourages more people to file cases against them. Soon they'll be carrying signs around saying "God Hates Lawyers".
