Cool. I have a working stereo again. Sounds like the static I was getting when I played CDs was due to the tuner's issues, though I'll let it play for a bit and see if the problem recurs.
Now, the question is, do I want to take the CD player down to Bay/Bloor anyway and have them fix the display so that I can actually see what's playing... and while I'm down there, buy an iPod. They have the 80Gb ones on for $379 because apparently Apple is coming out with a newer one soon, so they're getting rid of their stock. That's cheaper than Best Buy, though it might be a little more expensive than Future Shop (it's more than the price on their website, but that could be for online orders only). The fact that they're coming out with a new version shortly doesn't bother me - hell, I didn't buy a Discman until about three years ago.
