I got home about an hour and a half ago from a Doctor Who Information Network Tavern. I don't usually attend them, as they're the same night as the First Thursday pubnights, but [livejournal.com profile] shaunskywalker was in town so they arranged a special evening out at Paupers. I decided to go and say hi.

They were showing the Leafs game, which meant that the pub was packed. Now, as many of you know, I'm a hockey fan, so my attention was a little divided (though not too much, as the Leafs so outclassed the Atlanta Thrashers that they won 9-1). But I was able to chat a bit with [livejournal.com profile] shaunskywalker, [livejournal.com profile] redeem147, [livejournal.com profile] nexstarman, [livejournal.com profile] theengineer (happy birthday, btw - I didn't know until I saw [livejournal.com profile] redeem147's entry from this evening) and some other folks who were there. I always feel a little out of touch around this group, because although I enjoy Doctor Who, I don't know all the history. So when I mention that I've heard various rumours about the upcoming season, they've all heard them before and know exactly why they're all false.

Scott (an ex-bf of mine - well, as much as one can call someone whom one only dated for three weeks an ex-bf, but that seems to be the limit of my ability to keep a bf) was there as well. We'd been trying to get together for a while, but he got caught up in other stuff as he's just moved to a new place with his current bf and he's taking a German class. Interestingly, the class is at one of the two high schools in my neighbourhood (he didn't mention which one), so we'll likely be getting together on Tuesdays when he's up here for the next little while. He said he wants to see Serenity again, and as I still haven't seen it (I don't like to see movies alone, and he's my usual movie companion), we'll probably be seeing that. I don't know if it's still playing in this neighbourhood, though, so I'll have to check into that. We might not be able to manage it on a Tuesday when he's up here anyway, as I think he said his class ends at 9:30. But at least we managed to tentatively decide to go see it sometime.

Afterwards, a group of us walked over to Bathurst station to get the subway. There were two young guys on the platform who were so drunk I thought they were going to fall onto the tracks. That, and they were flirting with each other and hanging off each other, but in a way that I couldn't tell whether they were serious or if it was drunken straight boy flirting. Ah, youth...

[livejournal.com profile] bovil posted an animated Lost Season One Recap on his LJ earlier tonight. If you're a fan, or even if you're not, go check it out. It looks like Lost would if Terry Gilliam had directed it.

Hopefully I'll be able to get to bed soon, as there's a Gaylaxicon concom meeting tomorrow. I'm hoping more people show up this time than last time. I already know two people who aren't going to be able to make it, but it sounds from various emails and phone conversations that I've had with people lately like things are going to be picking up.
