Don't try to drink like a 21-year-old. You're 38, and can't do it any more. It should not take 48 hours to get over a hangover. And then you have hundreds of emails and friendslists posts to read to get caught up.
Okay, now that that's overwith...
Let's see... Wednesday, my bowling team was going to be one person short again because Randy had an accident and fell last weekend, requiring him to spend several hours at the emergency room. So I called up
cuteteenboy, because I know he likes to bowl, and got him to come and fill in. My first game was terrible. Even
h8torun beat me (it won't happen again, Genie! :P ). I think I had five splits, and ended up with a 118. I managed to pull it together in the second game - the beer may have helped relax me - and got a 206. (Sparing the 6-7-10 was an indication that it was going to be a better game, I think.) My third game was around my average, so I ended up a little above average on the evening.
Following the evening at the bowling alley,
cuteteenboy wanted to go downtown. I had no plans for Thursday, and I wanted him to take some of his stuff home with him (okay, I wanted my couch back), so we headed downtown to Pegasus. Six pints (each) later... hence the memo above. I spent pretty much all day Thursday lying on the couch wishing for death, missed the First Thursday pubnight, and still don't really feel like myself. Ugh. In fact, I had to turn down
elizard100's offer of her ticket to see Jon Stewart. I'm sure that under normal circumstances, I would have loved to have seen him. Sigh. Let that be another example in the lesson about not trying to drink like a 21-year-old. (Though the above-mentioned 21-year-old was in pretty rough shape himself after all that...)
Today was pretty dull too, except for phone calls from
elizard100 and
plaidlibrarian. In fact, I don't even know why I'm bothering to post, except to let people know that I'm still alive... if only barely.
I finally got around to RSVPing to an invitation I received a week ago for Thanksgiving dinner this Sunday night (note to my non-Canadian friends: that's not a typo, our Thanksgiving is this Monday), so that should be fun. Though I think I'll be skipping the alcohol.
