Wish me luck.

I got a call around 6 this evening from someone at ADP who wants to interview me. This is a technical interview, which usually comes after the general interview, so I guess that's a good thing.
The catch is that he wants to meet me at 9 tomorrow morning. There was a possible out - he asked me if the agency should be notified first, and I said that if he wanted to talk to them first, I could conceivably wait until later in the afternoon, or Friday. But he figured that since they had told me that he would be in touch about a technical interview, they don't need to actually be notified that it's proceeding. It's a good thing that I'm kind of tired after my weekend at Dragon*Con - I should be able to get to sleep at a reasonable hour tonight, though I guess catching up on TrekBBS will have to wait another day.
The office is right at Yonge and King, which is nice. Of the three places I've worked in Toronto, I preferred working in the financial district to either Jarvis/Bloor or Warden/Eglinton. (Yeah, I know what those of you who know Toronto are thinking. "He didn't like working near Church Street?" Well, Church/Wellesley was a little too far from Jarvis/Bloor to be a convenient lunchtime walk. Not if I wanted to actually get food.)
In other news,
bovil has set up a community for discussing Hugo Award recommendations - which happens to be at
hugo_recommend. Go ahead and join if you're interested in discussing Hugo-worthy work, or even if you want some suggestions about what to read or watch. Note that only members of the most recent or upcoming Worldcon are actually eligible to nominate and vote, though that includes supporting memberships. Membership information is available here - I assume that the dollar rates refer to USD, though it's not explicitly stated and I can find no CAD or AUD rates.

True. I suspect most of my friendslist won't be going, actually - most of them don't go to Worldcons even when they're close.
