It's been a while since I did one of these, and I've been tagged a few times recently, so here goes...

Name ten of life’s simple pleasures that you like most, then pick ten people to do the same.

(Do I have ten pleasures?)

  1. A tasty meal in the company of good friends.

  2. The company of good friends, period.

  3. A walk outdoors on a warm, sunny day.

  4. Sharing a joke.

  5. Reading something that teaches me something new.

  6. Reading for pleasure.

  7. The feeling that comes from having accomplished something or having solved a problem.

  8. A good cup of coffee.

  9. A good night's sleep.

  10. Music.

(Okay, I had to stretch a bit.)

Four jobs you have had in your life:

  1. Mainframe Programmer/Systems Analyst

  2. Customer Service Representative for a department store credit department

  3. Telemarketer

  4. Scorekeeper/stastician for the City-Metro Softball League and City of Toronto Hockey House League

Four movies you would watch over and over:

  1. It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World

  2. Clue

  3. Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan

  4. Star Trek: First Contact

Four places you have lived:

There have only been three cities in reality, but I'm going to cheat a little...

  1. Toronto, ON

  2. Waterloo, ON

  3. Kitchener, ON

  4. Ottawa, ON

(For non-local friends, Kitchener-Waterloo is really one large metro area that consists of two separate political entities, but for practical purposes, it's one city. Similarly, I've lived in Scarborough, ON, which used to be a borough of Toronto.)

Four TV shows you love to watch:

  1. Star Trek and all its incarnations

  2. House

  3. Boston Legal

  4. Desperate Housewives

Four places you have been on vacation:

  1. Los Angeles, CA

  2. San Francisco, CA

  3. Orlando, FL

  4. New Orleans, LA

Four websites I visit daily:

  1. Yahoo.com

  2. Livejournal

  3. TrekBBS

  4. Toronto Trek Message Board

Four of my favorite foods:

  1. Lasagne (pasta in general, but particularly lasagne)

  2. Ice cream (particularly spumoni)

  3. Steak

  4. Pork chops

Four places I would rather be right now:

  1. Anywhere warm

  2. At a convention with friends

  3. On stage (I miss performing)

  4. In bed (well, I'm not really tired, but I needed a fourth answer)

Four friends who I have tagged that I think will
respond:

Apologies if you've already been tagged for this, but I'm behind on my memeing.

[livejournal.com profile] danrduggan tagged me with this one. There's some overlap on previous memes, so I'll copy-and-paste:

Write 5 things that make you happy (in no particular order) and then tag 5 others to do the same...

  1. The company of good friends.

  2. Conventions.

  3. Reading.

  4. Laughter.

  5. Accomplishment.

Which Absolutely Fabulous Character are You?
brought to you by Quizilla

The Pool Boy
Random Gentle Sex Dreamer (RGSDm)

Friendly and eager. You are The Pool Boy.

A teen at heart, you anxiously move about your daily tasks, hoping, praying for a good, instant lay. You're carefree, enthusiastic, and rarely discouraged. Love is cool, but it's not for you right now. You know what is? Crotches.

You're a fun person in both big and small groups, and your friends trust and love you. Inside you, meanwhile, your lust is only growing. Imagine your beating heart sprouting pubic hair. Exactly. Try shaving that.

Your exact opposite:
The False Messiah

Deliberate Brutal Love Master
If you're not scoring enough--which you aren't--you should adopt new strategies. Lower your standards. Be aggressive. Pool Boys are often submissive and hope (desperately) sex will find them. Realize that passiveness will not hook the horny guys you desire. A bolder approach and sheer repetition will.

When browsing OkCupid, consider both The Bachelor and The Playboy.

ALWAYS AVOID: The False Messiah, The Mixed Messenger

Nick Bottom
You scored 0 evilness, 45 romance, 27 tragic, and 54 comic!

Nick Bottom is an Athenian weaver and acts the part of Pyramus in a
play in "A Midsummer Night's Dream." Bottom loves the sound of his own
voice and believes that he is the best actor, even though he often
confuses words. Through magic, he is given an ass's head and becomes
the object of affection of Titania through a love spell.

Um, I'm not sure I like that one, though at least it's from a play that I've done...

I've had to move this one to the bottom, since despite all of the HTML tags being closed, for some reason this one causes everything below it to be centred... weird.

Guilt
What is yours?
Explain yourself
Culinary: Ice cream I'm lactose-intolerant, but I just can't stop myself from indulging.
Literary: The gay equivalent of chick-lit Mostly humourous stuff, like Robert Rodi's works.
Audiovisual: Mel Brooks movies For some reason, I can't resist bad jokes. The worse they are, the funnier I find them.
Musical: Pet Shop Boys I feel like such a stereotype for loving their music, but they're a lot more versatile than many people realize.
Celebrity: Fabrizio Filippo I know he's straight IRL, but the way Ethan kisses Justin is just so... *inarticulate groaning* (points to icon) Not to mention, he's a really sweet guy IRL. Last time I talked to him, he remembered my name and the reason we had first come into contact with each other over a year earlier.

I'll have to check and see if any of my Erasure CDs are non-copy-protected. If they aren't, I can probably make you a copy to replace the one that's missing. Which album(s) do you have? I have all of them except for "The Two-Ring Circus," because I've never been able to find a copy of it.

I think I may have done that meme before. Either that, or we've discussed Dream in the past - maybe when I posted that old photo of myself from the review of the production I was in? I don't know. My brain hurts. ;)

Four movies you would watch over and over:

Clue

He was deranged, he was lunatic! He didn't actually seem to like me very much. He threatened to kill me in public.
Why would he threaten to kill you in public?
I think she meant he threatened, in public, to kill her.
Oh.
And was that his final word on the matter?
Being killed is pretty final, wuldn't you say?

OK seriously, I've seen this movie probably hundreds of time and I know it line for line, even though I haven't seen it in a while, and it was my first ever "favourite" movie. I am getting this on DVD!

It's a brilliant movie, no doubt. Sharp and witty, with a perfect cast.

"Yes, I did it. I killed Yvette. I hated her so... much... it... it... the... it... the... fee... flames... flames... on the side of my face... heaving... breathless... heaving breaths..."

There are far too many hysterically funny lines to quote them all. I'd be here all night if I tried. It should have at least been nominated for the Oscar for Best Screenplay.

OK, you know what... when I saw the MSN thinger pop up that you replied I was going to reply with that EXACT quote.

>>"Yes, I did it. I killed Yvette. I hated her so... much... it... it... the... it... the... fee... flames... flames... on the side of my face... heaving... breathless... heaving breaths..."

I'm gonna cry a little lol
