It's amazing what you find when you clean. I found a Super 7 ticket from the May 6 draw on which I'd won a free ticket. I guess I should cash that in, shouldn't I?
While watching the Leafs game tonight, I was struck by a thought... whoever picks the songs that are played on the PA system during stoppages in play needs to have it explained that Franz Ferdinand's "Do You Want To" probably isn't about what he or she thinks it is... after all, it has a male singer performing the lines "Oh well do you, do you do you want to, want to go/Where I've never let you before?" and "Well he's a friend and he's so proud of you/Your famous friend, well I blew him before you, oh yeah..."
(To hear the song, go to this site and click where "Do You Want To" is listed under "Featured Songs.")
Then again, the Leafs won tonight (though they did their best to blow their lead in the third period), so I'm not going to complain.

Date: 2005-11-05 10:25 pm (UTC)... I say we blame it on Belfour! ;P

Do you think they'll play "Michael" next? *laughs*

LOL! Well, now that Mats is back, maybe things will stabilize a little. But yeah, Belfour's been hot and cold this season.

I wouldn't mind in the least. I love that song. :)

Date: 2005-11-05 11:18 pm (UTC)Mats is back?! Boy, you miss one game and you're totally out of the loop! O_O I'm very happy about that. I'm glad he didn't have to have some sort of crazy surgery, like they had feared in the beginning...

I miss Cujo. :(

Date: 2005-11-05 11:58 pm (UTC)Tonight was his first game back. I'm surprised you hadn't heard, because they announced before the game against Carolina that he would be playing tonight.

Agreed. I still shudder when I think about what happened to Bryan Berard (and I'm amazed that he's still playing).
I miss Cujo. :(
Me too. I've never been comfortable with Belfour, though his stats have been excellent. I think I still distrust him because of the incident when he played with Dallas (I think) where he got drunk and assaulted a cop, then tried to offer him a bribe of one billion dollars not to arrest him.
Fortunately, nothing like that has happened since he came here.

Date: 2005-11-06 07:14 pm (UTC)I completely forgot... I missed that game as well because I went to see Rocky Horror at Bloor Cinema. ;P So let me rephrase that, "You miss TWO games and you're out of the loop." I had seen (or at the very least listened to on the radio) every game so far this season, but the last two slipped me by. And I know I shouldn't take this attitude, but whenever they're playing against southern teams, I always just assume the Leafs will win. *laughs*

Wow. I never heard about that. O_O

Date: 2005-11-07 02:16 am (UTC)ROFL! I'm the same... and similarly, whenever they play Philadelphia I assume they'll lose, though I fervently hope that I'll be surprised.

It happened about five years ago. There are some details here (http://www.buzzle.com/editorials/1-12-2001-2072.asp).
