I'm still here.

New icon snagged from
brokenelevator. There are a few other new ones I've snagged in the past week or so... you'll see them eventually. :)
It's been a while since I posted here last, so I just thought I'd let people know that I'm still alive. (I'm still posting on the TT lists, and TrekBBS, so there are likely very few of you who were worried about that. :) ) Blame it on the Firefly DVDs I've finally gotten around to starting to watch. I just watched "War Stories" tonight. I was supposed to be seeing Serenity tonight with Scott - or so I thought, from what he said Friday night - but he never called after his German class.
(With regard to "War Stories," I was trying to place the actor who played Niska, and it turned out he'd been on The Practice, The X-Files and DS9, as well as other shows I used to watch like L.A. Law, on which he played a recurring role as a judge. Thank the gods for IMDb.)
The Gaylaxicon meeting on Saturday went better than the past couple - more folks showed up, though there were still a couple of people who didn't make it who haven't been attending regularly whom I need to talk to (don't worry,
thespian, I'm not looking at you - I'm well aware of your more than legitimate reason for not being there). A few decisions were made, some things which need to be clarified were identified, and overall progress appears to be being made, albeit slowly.
I just got off the phone with
cuteteenboy - if anyone was trying to reach him by email and wasn't getting through, the problem has been fixed and you should be able to get through now.
This has been all over my friendslist already, but for the two or three of you who care and didn't already know: Doctor Who S1 is being released on DVD in Canada in February 2006!.
Bowling tomorrow night, and my elbow is still sore. I wonder if I'm getting a repetitive stress injury from being on the computer eight to ten hours a day.

Date: 2005-10-19 06:02 am (UTC)If you mean me, I couldn't make it last Saturday, but I've finally recovered from the con crud I picked up at Cascadia Con, and caught up on the sleep I missed all summer, so I'm ready to start working. I plan to be at the next meeting if I'm not at an out-of-town con (November is going to be busy for me, with two out-of-town cons and a visit to see my nephew).

Date: 2005-10-21 08:11 am (UTC)Lance,
You probably know that Torcon 3 has a surplus, which
we are distributing for the benefit of fandom.
You are invited to submit a proposal for Gaylaxicon.
It doesn't have to elaborate, a paragraph or two in
response to this email would be fine. Just let us know
how much money you want, and what purpose it would be
used for.
The deadline is short, though: I need all the
proposals in by Wednesday, October 26th at 5:00 PM.

Date: 2005-10-21 08:41 pm (UTC)No worries - thanks for letting me know, and I'll forward a proposal along shortly.
BTW, I haven't changed addresses - it's still lance_sibley at yahoo dot com. But someone else had trouble getting through to me recently, and I've had trouble reaching people as well - sometimes an ISP will blacklist emails from another ISP which is considered to be a source of spam. I wonder if that's what happened?
