I just got another email from Yahoo's customer "support":

Hello,

Thank you for writing to Yahoo! Groups.

Yahoo! may, in appropriate circumstances and in its sole discretion, remove or edit any content and/or terminate the accounts of users who appear to have violated the Terms and Conditions.

Please feel free to visit the Yahoo! Terms of Service at:

http://docs.yahoo.com/info/terms/

Thank you again for contacting Yahoo! Customer Care.

Regards,

Ricky

This is essentially the exact same email I got previously from a different customer service rep.

My response:

Dear Ricky,

Thank you for your response. Shelley had already indicated this to me. However, in no way could we have violated your terms of service. The group has been extremely quiet for the last little while, and the most recent email was from a couple of months ago, saying basically, "Gee, it's been quiet. How is everyone?" The last email *I* sent to the list was in March, passing along information on the 2007 Gaylaxicon, which is a science fiction convention that would be of interest to the members.

How, *specifically*, did we violate Yahoo's terms of service? I just don't see it.

Lance

This better get a more satisfactory response... and the only satisfactory response I would accept right now is, "Sorry, we screwed up."
