Another midterm out of the way.
Nov. 21st, 2006 03:37 amI had my Internet Scripting Languages midterm this evening. I don't know if I'm just really that much better at grasping this stuff than everyone else in the class (not to sound arrogant), but I was finished the entire thing in about 45 minutes (two hours were allotted). I didn't want to be too conspicuous by leaving that early, however, so I went over my answers a couple of times (and probably lost a couple of marks by changing correct answers to incorrect ones, just as I've done on both quizzes so far). I ended up leaving around 7:45 - there are only so many times you can look over the same answers before the second-guessing becomes ridiculous.
Okay, I ended up rewriting a couple of answers in their entirety, too, because I didn't notice until after I was done that the front page had said "please print neatly," and I had written my non-code answers in cursive script... the instructor thought that was hysterical when I told him as I was handing it in.
A few months ago, I posted that someone at the bowling league was convinced I was the PC guy in the Mac-versus-PC commercials:

I neglected to mention that someone else made the same comment last Friday night. Now, thanks to a thread at TrekBBS of all places, I know who this guy is whom I apparently resemble: his name is John Hodgman, and he's the "Resident Expert" on The Daily Show:

I still don't see it... what do you folks think?

I rather enjoyed Doctor Who tonight. There was none of that nonsense about hiding the nature of the thread with contrived shots of the Cybermen backlit or blurry, or shots of their feet, and there was a minimum of "bwahahahaha" from the villain this week. Plus, there was some real emotion there when it was discovered that ( spoiler ). I was surprised by Mickey, though - I did not see that coming. And I suspect that there will be a followup, despite the Doctor's claim that their arrival in the alternate universe was an accident.
Now, the question is, whether to watch episode 4 of Torchwood (I started watching around 2 yesterday morning, and watched the first three episodes before going to bed at 5), or just go to bed and watch it later? I'm kind of sleepy, but I wouldn't mind a Captain Jack fix... and I'm kind of liking Owen, too.
