I was going through my bookshelves earlier this evening, pulling out books that I haven't read in years and no longer want to donate to Gaylaxicon to sell at
Bring Out Your Dead tomorrow, and I found a copy of the hardcover Trek novel
Prime Directive. I said to myself: "Self - that's odd. Why would this be on the bookcase in the bedroom rather than out in the living room with my other Trek books?" I went out into the living room, and sure enough, I had a copy there as well. So I said to myself: "Self - why have I got two copies of this book?" and opened up the one that had been in the bedroom - and there on the title page, were the signatures of the authors, Garfield and Judith Reeves-Stevens.
No, I'm not donating the autographed copy. ;)
Now to figure out how I'm going to get four bags of books, a box of flyers, a bag of Pride bracelets, a cashbox, a vinyl banner and a roll of duct tape down to the Merril Collection tomorrow morning. I suspect I'm going to have to use my suitcase after all. Because there's no way I'm getting up at the crack of ohmygod in the morning to get there without taking a cup of coffee with me, and I only have two hands.
