I hate doing laundry.
Feb. 22nd, 2005 09:35 pmThe dryers in my apartment building's laundry room are shit. I just had to spend an extra $3.20 because nothing was dry after 50 minutes. The old ones (they were replaced about three years ago) never had this problem; plus, they held more clothing. The only conceivable advantage these machines have is that they use a smart card, so I don't have to save a mountain of quarters for every time I want to do laundry.
Oh, and when I went downstairs originally to put my laundry in the washer, none of the machines were in use, but they were all full of wet clothes. According to a woman who came in about five minutes after I arrived, they'd been in that state for over an hour. (I eventually just took the person's wet clothes out and put them on top of one of the dryers.) What is so difficult about keeping your eye on the time when you've put laundry in and gone back upstairs? I always set the timer on my microwave to go off ten minutes before the load is due to finish. Am I the only considerate person in this building???
