I'm always baffled as to why that is. After I had watched the first few episodes I mentioned how annoying I found Jack to be, and a friend of mine remarked that "All of the characters get on my nerves. The only character who I have consistently liked is Sawyer."
Even in the Second Season when Sawyer grows more tolerable as a character, I can't bring myself to like him.
I know he has his issues, but that whole "I need everyone to hate me because I hate myself" thing gets very old fast.
