I got two - yes, TWO! - calls regarding jobs today... one for a 6-month contract with Honda (at Finch and Morningside - ick), and one from a lady at the Dominion of Canada Insurance Company, to which I'd applied so long ago that I don't even remember what the job was. The latter is a permanent position, though, not contract. My interview is next Tuesday afternoon at 1 - she had initially scheduled me for 10am (I didn't want to sound lazy by requesting an afternoon interview), but five minutes after hanging up the phone she called back and requested that we re-schedule for later, as I'm going to be having two one-hour interviews with two different managers and apparently someone else had the meeting room booked for 11.

I suppose this means I should make an appointment to get my hair done this weekend... I hope my regular stylist hasn't quit yet. Last time I went he asked for my email address and phone number because he was thinking about leaving Testarossa and going solo, but I haven't heard anything from him.

In other news... something made me go over to Television Without Pity last night and check out the QAF forum. My, there's a lot of hatred for the finale out there... I didn't think it was particularly wonderful (it needed to be two hours, for one), but the venom is dripping from every post over there. And it seems that there was a while there when there was no QAF forum because the shipper wars got so nasty that the moderators decreed that there shall be no QAF discussion. I guess that, with the show now being over, they figured it was relatively safe to allow discussion again... and the members are making up for lost time. Even given that the show airs a week earlier in the States than it does here, there were 22 pages in the thread. And I thought [livejournal.com profile] queerasfolkfans was bad...

Let's see, what else is going on... I seem to be having some kind of nutrient imbalance. I've been snacking on pickles lately... could just be that they're all I have to snack on.

That was quite a comeback by the Jays tonight, wasn't it? Every now and then I think the return of the glory days is just around the corner...

There's a rumour afoot that the Leafs are going to sign Steve Thomas. I'm not sure how I feel about this - the guy is 42 years old, and IMO he's been on a decline since 1998-99. Having been off for a year could rejuvenate him, or he could be finished. For what it's worth, the team denies that they have any plans to sign him. Then again, they were saying the same thing about Eric Lindros...

71,710 descendants
- you're more genetically fit than 41% of the current population -
71,710.
Not bad. You're no Mongol warlord, but to have that many copies of your
genetic code running around 800 years from now is pretty impressive.

You're at the lower end of the scoring spectrum, but, honestly, when
you consider that the cheaters, swindlers, and football players of this
world are statistically best-equipped to create children, scoring low
is something to be proud of. As you'll see below, some of your lines
will die out, but nonetheless your genetic material will thrive here on
earth for a long time to come.

A close friend of mine created a program to generate family
trees for this test. It's based on your unique answers. We accounted
for sterility, birth rates, death rates, disease, drug abuse,
nitwitism, and accidents and came up with this, for you:

My test tracked 1 variable How you compared to other people your age and gender:
